How it got its name has been lost in the formstone mists of Canton. Opened in 1948, the Sip & Bite became a word-of-mouth sensation after George Vasiliades began ladling out homemade specials to waterfront regulars who knew the value of a buck and the taste of real food.
Sure we are a 24/7 diner and are known for our hearty breakfasts and reasonably priced lunch and dinners. However, we are first and foremost a Baltimore, MD. establishment and everyone knows that "Maryland is for Crabs".
With that said... the Sip & Bite is famous for our Crabcakes. Why? Because we made them the same way, by the same tried-and-true recipe for over 70 years. Its the quality of the crabmeat and technique in the preparation.
We are so Proud of our crabcake that we even share the recipe with you. Watch Sip & Bite owner school Guy Fieri on how to create the perfect, traditional chesapeak crabcake.
